Private carriers seek more time for response to draft civil aviation policy

FIA has said that its member airlines needed more time to understand the impact of the proposals on themselves and the sector as a whole
The civil aviation ministry had invited comments on the draft policy till November 21 this year.

FIA has requested an extension to submit its response till December 15, closer to the time when the Union civil aviation ministry plans to send the draft policy for the approval of the Cabinet.

For business in aviation sector, the biggest obstacle is regulator, according to Binoy Prabhakar, in ET Bureau. He points out that the DGCA office, the body that regulates aviation in India, stands out as an absolute riddle even by the unfathomable standards of government offices in India. No work, just red tape written all over it.
