This bold initiative not only highlights the promise of these engineering marvels but also introduces a fresh, inclusive approach that celebrates the vibrant local culture.
The initiative is based on the directives issued by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, who inspected the area in April of this year. During his visit, he advocated for the prompt incorporation of both bridges into the region's primary tourism circuit, emphasising their engineering significance and scenic beauty as elements worthy of international acclaim. The Reasi district administration has earmarked suitable land adjacent to the Chenab River bridge at Kauri, which the Tourism Department will utilise for the development of infrastructure and visitor amenities.

Additionally, we are developing further strategies to implement actionable measures with the active participation of all stakeholders as soon as possible. In parallel, the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu, has formally reached out to Northern Railways to establish a Tourist Information Centre adjacent to the museum being developed near Kauri Bridge. This centre will serve to elucidate the narrative surrounding the construction and significance of the highest railway bridge.
A request has also been submitted to allocate space within the museum to promote the diverse tourist destinations of the entire Jammu region. To further enrich the visitor experience, the Directorate of Tourism plans to install LED screens at strategic locations around the museum and the Northern Railways cafeteria, located near Kauri Bridge. These screens will showcase documentaries on regional tourist attractions, offering immersive content that encourages tourists to explore a broader range of destinations within the area.
Northern Railways has consented to these proposals; however, implementation will commence only upon the completion of the museum and related infrastructure. Additional promotional initiatives are also being planned, with the Tourism Directorate finalising a comprehensive action plan that includes [specific details of the action plan], anticipated to be launched before the formal transfer of completed infrastructure from the executing agency to the commercial division of Northern Railways.
